Congratulations to Jon Arnold for successfully defending his Interservices title and to DJ Graham for winning the Sport Class. Congratulations also go to the Army team for winning the Interservices team competition thus ending the RAF's dominance of over 50 years - well done but they'll be after you next year!
Thanks must go to all of the competitors, crews and volunteers who made it an enjoyable competiition. Well done for having a safe and fun comp - shame about the weather! Thanks must also go to all of the Bannerdown members for letting us use your facilities and for the work that went into the set up and clearing up.
Hopefully see you all next year!
Day Nine
1515 - Prize Giving will be at 1600.
1500 - Today is a scrub. There is a band of stratus cutting off the convection between here and the first TP.
1225 - It's a grid squat! The sky is clearing but no sign of Cu as yet.
1050 - The Wet man is convinced that it will clear up enough for us to get a task in. That being so, the tasks are:
Open Class: MAR (Marlborough) - BUR (Burbage) - BRF (Bradford-on-Avon) - FRO (Frome) Finish line F2 Task distance = 109.53km
Sport Class (Open Class fallback): MAR (Marlborough) - PEW (Pewsey) - BRF (Bradford-on-Avon) - WES (Westbury) Finish line F2. Task distance = 87.13km
The winner of the Duck of Daring Do was Al Stacey for his moves on the dance floor last night.
The winner of Mr Rude was Al Stacey for his antics in the bar last night. If you were there (or even if you were trying to have a quiet night in the campsite) you will have heard them!
0840 - Briefing will be at 1030. Grid before briefing, sport class on the front. Do not grid until called.
Day Eight
1330 - Today is SCRUBBED. The clearance is filling in as it approaches with massive over-convection.
The winner of the Duck of Daring Do was Liz Schwarzer for the allegedly smuggling Viagra into the country. Ged McKnight as her crew chief is now under suspicion for being a dealer...
The winner of Mr Rude was the weather and was accepted by Mel the Met braving enemy fire as the competitors took out their ire by subjecting him to a barrage (not of abuse) but of foam bullets.
1055 - More rain! The Met man is currently recalibrating his seaweed in the hope of a better outlook!
0840 - Breifing will be at 1200. Do not grid before briefing but wait for the next announcement on the tannoy, radio and internet as to gridding instructions.
0805 - Rain, rain and more rain! The ridge on the other side of the airfiled is hidden in cloud and it looks horrible!
Day Seven
1025 - Today is scrubbed. There are high winds and possible thunderstorms forecast for later this morning and through this afternoon. It is recommended that pilots derig.
0845 - Briefing at 1000. Do not grid before briefing.
Day Six
1900 - Official results for Day 3 are now available on the Daily Results section. Overall scores are in the Overall Results section. The team scores are as follows:

2nd - RN 250 pts
3rd - RAF 243 pts
4th - Team Cranwell 212 pts
5th - KRH GRIT 45 pts
1447 - Today is scrubbed. The weather did not play ball and there just wasn't enough lift in the drop zone. Despite a retask to go west, the sky is dead in all directions. Better luck tomorrow!
1400 - Both classes have now fallen back to a minimum distance task.
Open and Sport Class fallback: RAB (Ramsbury) - RIV (Rivar Hill) Finish F1 Task distance 88.73km
The sniffer has now launched and we await further news.
1335 - Rebrief on the front of the grid in 5 minutes.
1300 - We are still sat on the grid and waiting for the weather to improve. There are a lot of people walking around wearing coats which is ridiculous considering it is supposed to be summer!
1150 - The tannoy is fixed! Hooray!
1148 - It's a grid squat. The sniffer has launched and come back and reported nothing useful in the drop zone. We are still waiting for the weather to do something useful.
1026 - Open Class Task: LON (Longleat)- FOR (Fordingbridge) - SHM (Shepton Mallett) Finish F2. Task distance 155.63km
Sport Class Task: LON (Longleat) - FOV (Fovant) - SHM (Shepton Mallett) Finish F2. Task distance 115.98km
First possible launch not before 1140.
We are having problems with the tannoy so please check with control for information as to waht is happening.
1025 - The winner of the "Duck of Daring Do" was Tim Davies for forgetting his parachute for the second day. He has now been renamed Cheryl Cole!
The winner of Mr Rude was Daz Smith for daring to park his glidern in someone else's personal private parking space!
0845 - Briefing will be at 1000. Grid before breifing on Rwy 24 with the Sport Class on the front. Do not tow out until called.
Day Five
2200 - There still some poor souls out on retrieve so we are still waiting for the last few pilots to make it back to the airfield. This is shaping up to be a late night!
2010 - VERY preliminary results are available on the Daily Results section. We are still waiting for several loggers to be brought back from fields.
1915 - All gliders are now accounted for. It will be a very long night for the scorer as we have gliders on retrieves everywhere between Keevil and Didcot. We will try and get some provisional scores out as soon as possible.
1910 - The last glider has just called 10km and is approaching from a very flat looking sky. A very difficult day with the weather not playing ball around Bicester. Either that or the Bicester magnet had been well and truly switched on and sucked all of the gliders onto the airfield.
1742 - All of the Sport Class are now accounted for; either finished or landed out. Two finishers so far in the Open class but the landouts are starting to come through from them as well. Fingers crossed.
1634 - Landouts starting to happen....
1628 - First landout. L11 motored back in.
1510 - All gone bar one. Vulture squadron now on standby!
1500 - Nearly all gone and the sky is looking booming!
1442 - Start/ finish times are available on the Daily Results section.
1427 - Sport Class start line will open in 17 minutes. Maximum start height 5600 ft.
1404 - Open Class start line will open in 17 minutes, maximum start height 5400ft.
Sport class will stream launch behind the Open Class.
1335 - And they're off!
1325 - The weather is co-operating! First launch 10 minutes.
1240 - There was rebrief on the front of the grid and both classes have fallen back. Both classes will fly Task B. The good weather is tantalisingly close but is all in the Lyneham zone at the moment. There is some better weather upwind and the pilots are all willing it closer but not as much as the Director! The grid squat continues apace...
1020 - First launch not before 1100. If required, there will be a rebrief on the front of the grid for a fallback. Tasks as follows:
Open Class Task A: MEM (Membury) - GRW (Grafham Water) - TOW (Towcester) - CHV (Chieveley) Finish line F1 Task distance 355.7km

1215 - Today is SCRUBBED due to a surfeit of the wrong kind of weather!
The winner of "Tales of Daring Do" was the Director for proving that it is not just penguins which fall over backwards when an aeroplane flies overhead.
The winner of "Mr Rude" was Peter Kingwill for making suggestive comments about young ladies and their underwear.
1135 - It is raining. Lots of disgruntled pilots around.
0900 - Thanks to the eagle eyes of the Army team who were dismayed at being beaten by Team Cranwell, a mistake was found in the scoring spreadsheet. The actual team results are as follows:
4th - Team Cranwell 237 points
3rd - RN 244 points
2nd - RAF 254 points
1st - Army 284 points
0842 - Briefing will be at 1200. Do not grid before briefing.

2nd - Army 284 points
1st - Team Cranwell 289 points
1755 - Official scores now available on the Daily Results section
1655 - Provisional scores are on the Daily Results section. More pilots are coming into Control having just got back from a retrieve so we will update as soon as possible.
1550 - Very provisional results are available stuck to the window outside control. We are waiting for a few more traces.
1541 - All accounted for. The scorers are now frantically working on the traces and we will have some scores as soon as possible. The winner of "Poser of the Day" was Ged McKnight (callsign 126) for the start call "126 at 1:26".

1853 - Times are now on the Daily Results section. The scorers are working frantically and we will have some provisionals as soon as possible.
